The heater
is finally in place The Dickinson-heater is now ready for the South. Moust of the mounting was done when we were at Itaparica, Brasil. Now the rest is in place and ready. In Buenos Aires you can get all the parts you want for a reasonable price - as long as you don't tell anyone that it is for a boat... Ceramic heat-resistant insulation behind the inox-plate, stainless freefall tank for diesel and protection arond the flue-pipe on deck. These last and important pieces was mounted when we were in Puerto Madero, Buenos Aires. The heater is tested, and it gives A GOOD HEAT. We are looking forward to the colder oceans...!!! |

DICKINSON HEATER - July 2006 |
|||||||||||||||||||||||
We ordered the Dickinson heater from Canada while we where in Trinidad. So far the heater and its parts have been put away. During the last weeks the Captain has used most of his time to make space for, and to mount the oven. At the moment it is winter in Brazil, but the temperature is between 25 and 30 degrees Celsius. We look forward to get further south. Even though the summer is coming, the temperature will get lower during the comming months. We hope that the Dickinson heater will keep both us and Empire warm. |
