MAURITIUS - Mauritius, September 2011

We arrived in the island of  Mauritius - in the country Mauritius - after a quick 2 days voyage from Rodrigues. Also in the island of Mauritius we were welcomed by friendly people. The island also had lots of nice scenery and interesting animal experiences...

To good boys - getting better and better to play with each other. A llittle good night story before the oldest sailor goes to bed. The "work bench" on top of the wind wane in use...
Port Louis, Mauritius. 4 children live on board the Swiss yacht Patchamama - in the age from 6 months to 6 years. Every playground we pass is thoroghly investigated by Eirik. Every toy has to be tested.
The Captain turned 27 år (for the 19th time) while we were in Port Louis. When we woke up ballons were hanging in the rig - in the evening 30 guests gathered in Empire`s cockpit.
Lisbeth and Vegar caught up with us in Port Louis. Scandinavian brotherhood in Port Louis - represented by Norwegian s/y Pona and Go Beyond, Swedish s/y Satumaa and s/y Empire. With Pomona tied up alongside Empire in the inner corner of the marina, the two yachts made up "The Central Norwegian Party".
At the market in Port Louis the goods was presented as proffesionally (or better)
as in the best Norwegian stores!
Fantastic meet market in Port Louis...
Marius had a Zebraclose experience...
Lisbeth and Vegar (s/y Pomona) and Bjørnar went for a walk with a tiger!!!
Marius and Eirik love the water. How will this work when we
get back to the cold water of Norway?
With Bjørnar visiting we could play real beach tourists.
Easy days in Mauritius...
Nice mountains in Mauritius had to be climbed. The Team picture close to the top of Le Pouch, "The thomb", from left.: Chress, Irene (2xs/y Conversations), Eivind, Marius, Bjørnar, Lisbeth (s/y Pomona), Eirik and Heidi. Photo: Vegar, s/y Pomona.
Bjørnar got time for several hikes/climbs when he visited in Mauritius. Warming up with a hike on Le Pouch before almost summiting Pieter Both, the peak with the rock on top.
The mountain Pieter Both with the rock on top is visible form far out at sea. Almost wherever you are on Mauritius you can see the peak with the rock on top.
Finally the Empire Captain could use his climbing gear... Swedish Johanna on Norwegian s/y Go Beyond - just under the rock on top. We sumitted - on top of the rock on top of Pieter Both.
