EVERYDAY LIFE IN YAMBA Australia, Yamba - January - May 2011

The first months of 2011 Empire was mostly tied to the pier in Yamba, with exception for a couple of tours out on the river - in addition to the BIG trip the 4. of March. Eirik and the Captain also travelled to New Zealand by air to say hello to friends and to renew the permit to stay in Australia.

Travelling in two levels. Eirik is looking forward to Marius getting older... "Play with me"! Music kindergarten in Yamba.
For the second time in a "short while" we travelled to the Norwegian consulate in Brisbane to get a personal ID number and a passport for a new born - and to get Eirik his second passport. When we arrived back in Yamba after the trip to the consulate in Brisbane, Clarence River floodewd. Yamba was about to be sealed off from the rest of Australia for some time... Now it is my turn, Papp!
Pierre and Eivind went out fishing several times - but they did not catch much fish...
To prevent sailing abstinence Eivind joined in as crew on the Yamba yacht Ausdacious - during Port of Yamba Yacht lub`s races in the Clarence River.
There are plenty of options for a swim around Yamba.
Eirik never says no to a swim The breakfast cook preparing his poridge. Lunch with good friends.
Eirik and the Captain on a "boys tour" to New Zealand - where we met friends from our stay in New Zealand in 2007/2008. There was also time for a race on board Thelma...
Al and Kate, our yacht neighbours in Yamba, invited us to their home. The farm Kate and Al are running had 1000 cows and about the same number of calves...
With 22000 hectars of land you can have a picknik on your own property.

Tired little fellow. Taking in Kate and Al`s property The "camping site" at Kate` and Al`s place.
Inland trip from Yamba Pierre de Billot and Ragnar Thorset inspecting Empire Come on, baby...
