Mum Vigdis & Dad Tore 3. - 24. November 2007

After a long flight it was good to finally be back onboard Empire again. In Opu ait felt good to see Heidi, Eivind & Peder, 1 year since last time!
We have had to weeks of pleasent sailing south to Auckland. We had some good days in Whangarei where we met several other sailors.
In Auckland we visited the Maritime Museum, Sky Tower, the Aquarium and finally the Kauri Museum.
We have had 3 great weeks onboard with lots of good food and drink in good company. We would have liked to stay longer now as the summer is coming. Back home in Oslo it is winter and snow...
Thank you - we hope you will enjoy New Zealand!
Wish you safe sail when you head for Fiji in april.

Vigdis & Tore

Bjørnar Bakken 13. - 31. October 2007

Irene Bogerud 24. April - 3. May 2007

Eivind´s mother. Even though the time past to quick this has been a very plesant visite. The weather only allowed for a small trip on Rio Valdivia with Empire. On the other side we got to see som of Chile by car. I enjoyed the time I had together with Eivind and Heidi, the trip to Ian og Maggy Staples were also one of the highlights.

Solvor Dyrnes 24. April - 28. April 2007

Peder ´s mother had a short visit onboard when Peder signed on Empire, and got the opportunity to a short sailing-trip at Rio Valdivia, before she returned to Norway.

Bjørnar Bakken 24. October - 6. November 2006

The 7. visit since Empire left Oslo . This time it has been 14 days of marinasailing in BA, some work to be done but mostly relaxing vacation. I've been a real tourist in BA and eaten big beefs and local beer so my belly is round and good looking.
•  The drivers are on top of the lines in the road, not between…
•  Everybody is talking in their mobile in a very strange way
•  Everybody is wearing suits, even when it's 30º +
The plan was to sail to Mar del Plata , but the weather wanted it to be different. I wish Eivind and Heidi and the rest of the crew a good journey further south. See you…
Mum Vigdis & Dad Tore 13. - 27. October 2006

We thank you again for our good 14 days on Empire. With a voyage on Rio de la plata to Uruguay where we enjoyed some nice days in Colonia de Sacramento. A little and calm "kardemommeby". The rest of the time we have been in Buenos Aires with excursions to Tigres in the delta are and also around town.
We have eaten several great beef dinners... We wish you a good voyage further south and hope for the weather to be nice to you. See you again on the other side of South America

...
Børre - Bjørn Erik - 19.August - 16. September 2006

Dear Eivind & Heidi, thanks for the opportunity to stay together with you on Empire for a hole month. I had very high expectations to the tour, but they have really been exeeded. The experiences are strong and hard to describe, so I ask you to look at Espens Letter which tells about some of the impressions. I would also like to point out Eivind´s & Heidi´d patience with a particularly rusty "fokkeslask". With them as instructors, it is easy to fall in love with sailing. Thanks for this time Empire, hope to see you again soon...

Espen 19.August - 16. September 2006

2006 – The year I had much holiday left. How should I spend it? A long trip? Where, when, alone or with a partner? Immediately, when I received an email from the Captain, I knew for sure. I had been so stupid! Off course, this is a golden opportunity to experience Love Boat in action on the southern latitude in Brazil.....

You will find Espen`s Letter here >>>

Linda & Gary 10. June - 30. June 2006

2 exited soles without any sail experience at all has been onboard Empire the last 3 weeks and sailed along the Brazilian coast from Recife to Salvador . It has been a great experience from day one. Even seasickness, big waves and lot of wind and an exiting night sail could not scare us. We have had a really good time in your floating home. Thanks for letting us stay with you and see Brazil together. We wish you good luck with your fairytale, hope that we will see you again on another ocean!

Don Pedro Big Boy 20.February - 27. April 2006

Peder came onboard together with Bjørnar in Tobago and has sailed with us for more than 2 months. During this time Peder has turned 4, seen the Carnival in Trinidad, sailed between Tobago, Trinidad, Grenada and Venezuela, learned some english words, met lots of new people and gotten lots of new friends both norwegian and foreign ones. His getting more comfertable in the water, but at the moment he is swimming more under than over the water... Fishing, bathing, excursions to the rainforest, learned to drive the dingy and played in the water...

Bjørnar Bakken 20. - 27. April 2006

Visiting for the 6.time since Empire left Oslo!!

Elias, Tai & Torbjørn 14. - 26. April 2006

We came onboard after our vacation in Brazil. It was a relief to meet familiar faces and bread for breakfast. We had a great tour to Charlotteville and have with much enthusiasm tried to fish from the boat.
We are dissapointed about the few hours of sailing, but we had lots of time to explore Tobago and Bagos Bar. Thanks !

Herman, Anne & Hans Petter 10. - 18. April 2006

Thanks for wonderful days here on Tobago. We have enjoyed us all the time! Herman has got to know the beach and boat life, and would rather stay in the "bathtub" allt he time. Thanks for your hospitality and pleasant company!

Vigdis & Tore Våge 24. March - 7. April 2006

Thanks for two great weeks onboard Empire. Good to see you again, and that everything is ok! Relaxing days and wonderfull nightsail between Trinidad, Grenada and Tobago. 310 nm, beautiful stars during the night, fullmoone and good wind. Fun to meet Peder again, and to see his development in the water. Soon he swims like a fish...

Bjørnar Bakken 20.February - 3.March 2006

Flight to Tobago with Peder. "The Boys" managed well.. It was nice meeting Snorre again at Store Bay, Tobago, before we sailed the night through for Chaguaramas and Trinidad. It was carnival time in Trinidad, and the scheduled program ashore, together with Vanvara and Don't Worry, was tight. Mas Camps, Pan Yards, King & Queen Competition, Grand Prix alike Calypso competition, J´ouvert and Panorama Parade in Port of Spain. Nice evenings onboard the boats and on shore. The Military Museum was also something, a mix between museum, zoo and wrekyard. I also acted as a "Bodyguard" for the girls when they went shopping. - in exchange for homemade whole weat bread.

Haldor Holm 22. January - 3. February 2006
58 years. Salesmanager for Bavaria / Lunde Båt.

Heidi and Eivind gave us this cruise as a wedding gift some time ago. This is the best time to be here in Caribbean , when it is cold back home and lots of snow is falling. As one of Eivind's, before this, colleagues from Lunde Båt, we knew that this would be a very exiting tour to join. We embarked in Soufriere , St. Lucia , and we are going to join them until Grenada . We had a rough start on the tour, with rain, heavy winds and waves. But now everything has calmed down, the sun is shining and the wind Is moderate.

We can see that Heidi and Eivind have done their homework, and that the most is ready for their long voyage. We are very pleased we got the opportunity join you on this tour, and wish you all the best for the rest of the tour. Maybe we will join you again later on.

Erna Simensen 22. January - 3. February 2006

58 years, the super salesmans of Bavaria yachts' wife.
Friend, lover and lady.

Kristin 22. January - 3. February 2006

I am Haldor's daughter, and I am very happy about getting this invitation to this fantastic tour in the Caribbean waters. My life is travelling, photographing and diving, and I like it very much in exotic surroundings. Empire is superb, the islands are beautiful and the sailing partners are the best. The diving has been excellent, and I hope to dive some more before flying back home. I am not happy about flying back home in a week or so, to the winter and lots of snow.

Camilla Kolverud 28. December - 5. January 2006

My target for the tour, was to spend time together with you, and to have a look into your life under way. We have had a lot of time together, and I can see you are having a good time. You are good at being on tour, and that looks good for the coming years.
I have seen and been in paradise for some days. Tobago Cays is maybe the best place I have ever been. Relaxing – snorkelling – several nice Norwegian boats – nice children – a handsome pilot – an annoying octopus and a very special start of 2006.

Bjørnar Bakken 28. December - 5. January 2006

What I remember best from these days are
- a happy Captain and Mate
- Nice "neighbours", like Vanvara, Don´t Worry and Snorre
- Piggs from a sea urchin in my foot, kl 2230 New Years Eve after rescuing Felicie's dingy
- New Years in shorts and T-shirt, barbeque at the beach
- MadMax with his five children with five different vives on five different islands.

Annichen Fische 17. December - 27. December 2005

Janne Thon Rehn & Lise Thon Gustavsen 12.-13.Nov 2005

Two ahppy sister at dolphin watch. We are sorry we did not see any dolphins on our sailing from Puerto de Mogan to Las Palmas , but the tour was full of events. A yellow bucket in the water draw our attention – but it was nothing…The weather was everything from sun to rain, from no wind to gale force winds. Three full bags was all Janne could deliver for the tour… but always smiling. Crackers and peanuts for lunch and dinner, befor we finally made it to the quiet harbour of Las Palmas around midnight . A long days sailing around the half of a “little” island. Stars in the sky and full moon on our way into Las Palmas , and the mode was back on top.

Bjørnar Bakken 31. October. - 11. November 2005

Bjørnar is our "Ground Crew". 1. Fender Bakken has again embarked Empire. This time mostly for a harbour-stay - Puerto de Mogan. As usual Bjørnar has his suitcase full of parts for the Captain and Empire. This time the Captain had ordered a 30 kg Bruce anchor. This time you normally would find Bjørnar onbord or somwhere around with a cold beer in his hand, or with a tool to help the Captain or the Mate. The Kayak has been on several tours and the dishes are done before we know it. We look forward to seeing you again.

Peder Dyrnes 5. September - 8. November 2005

Peder, a little big boy at the age of 3½ year. He is son of the Captain. Peder is embarking Empire in Vigo. He will be debarking in Puerto de Mogan late in November. He has been sailing with his father and Heidi before, but never so far from home. Peder have learned how to place his "sealegs", and a lot of other new things. We are lucky that Peder got the time to join us...

Bjørnar Bakken 5. September - 16. September 2005

The beer is cold, the air is warm. Embarked in Vigo . Have seen an unbelievable sandy beach - Playa del Faro on east side of Isla del Cies. Have been at anchor, paddling kayak, driving the dingy, bathing, morningbathing, playing at the sany beach, chasing seagulls together with Peder, nice and steep walk at Isla del Cies. Have been visiting Vigo , Faro, Bayona, Viano do Castelo, Nazare and Cascais. 2 night voyages, long waves – I am best ashore! A wonderful trip. I have gotten a new friend, Peder, 3½ years old- he is a nice fellow. See you soon.

Bjørnar Bakken 23.juli - 30.juli 2005

Embarked in Mou, Denmark. Bjørnars first embarking on Empires long voyage. We will probably see him back onboard in not to long. Bjørnar easily gets seasick, but it turned out quiet well, with no "accidents", even when we had a grown up gale in the nose south of Norway. Bjørnar is the best man ever to take the dishes, as long the boat is tied to a pontoon or is at anchor... He debarked in Stavanger to keep an appointment...

Vigdis og Tore Våge

Heidi's mother and father visited us in Mou, Denmark.
Thank you very much for all the help onboard Empire, Tore. For your work onboard and for your ideas under way.
Our guests ar admiring your work when they get onboard.

Eva Cecilie Finstad - 11. - 13. Juli, Mou, Denmark

One of Heidi's energic friends. She likes to give a hend. Thank you for all your help onbord Empire and for helping us with the work onboard the other Bavarias at LP Yacht, when you visited us at our work camp there.

We hopr to see you later on our tour. Maybe sailing in Argentina, around the Falklands or Soth Georgia ?

Asbjørn Holko, young mann, 69. 3. July -10. July 2005

As one of Eivind's colleges, working in Lunde Båt, I was invited as a crew member for this first leg to Malmø and later Mou , Denmark . A grown up gale in the nose for two days. Empire was behaving very well under the rough conditions. The Old Man, an old Navy man that has not been outside the Drøbakssundet for years, turned out to be stron in the heavy seas. As an old sailor I can sea that Empire is well equipped for the long voyage. I have a good feeling for your long voyage, when I let you go on your own from Denmark …
